Auto insurance, compared.

Paying too much for car insurance?

Pick your car first. Then answer 2 quick questions.

  • Free
  • No obligation
  • No phone number

3 taps. No long forms.

See the companies that will quote your car, all in one list. Pick one. The others stay here.

  • Your ZIP code

Your price depends on where you park at night. That's all we need to start.

  • Companies near you, in one list

The companies that will quote your car near you, side by side. The order is not a ranking.

  • Your price, on their site

Tap one. It opens in a new tab and the company shows your price. No account with us.

Where you live changes your price.

Insurance companies look at your ZIP code: traffic, car theft and claims nearby. Two ZIP codes in the same town can get very different prices. That's why it's the first thing we ask, and the only thing we ask about you.

Your driving record matters most.

Tickets, accidents and how long you've been driving. Some companies also use a phone app to see how you drive. We never ask about any of this. The insurance company does, on its own site.

Your car matters too.

Repair costs, safety features and theft rates all change the price. We send your car's year, make and model, so you type less.

What happens after you tap.

Here's what happens, step by step.

  1. Their website opens in a new tab

We stay open behind it, with the other companies still listed.

  2. You answer their questions

Who drives, where you live, how much coverage you want. A few minutes, less with your current policy handy.

  3. They show your price

On their site, from their numbers. We never see it.

  4. Come back and check another

The other companies are still here. 2 quotes help you know you're not paying too much.

What changes the price to insure your car.

3 things about the car itself that change a quote.

  • Safety features

Automatic braking, lane keeping and other safety features can lower your price. Ask each company which ones count.

  • Repair costs

Cars that cost more to fix cost more to insure.

  • Car theft

Cars that get stolen more cost more to insure. Where you park matters, so say "garage" if it's true.

Before you compare.

2 minutes now makes your quotes easy to compare.

Have ready

  • Your current policy papers, so you know what coverage you have now
  • A driver's license number for each driver
  • About how many miles you drive a year
  • The VIN, if you have it. You don't need it; it just saves a step.

Compare on

  • The same coverage amounts on every quote, or the prices don't mean much
  • What's included, like towing, a rental car and glass
  • Bundling. Home or renters insurance with the same company can cost less in total
  • The 6-month price, not the monthly one. Extra monthly fees hide there.

Questions.

Why don't you show prices?

Each insurance company sets your price on its own site after a few questions about you. We show who will quote your car; the price comes from them.

We never run a credit check

We only use your ZIP and car to show offers. Each insurer explains how it quotes, including any credit-based insurance score where the law allows one.

Same car, very different prices

Two companies can be hundreds of dollars apart on the same car. That gap is the reason to compare.

Who pays us

An insurance company may pay us when you open a quote. You never pay us anything.

Which companies will I see?

It depends on your ZIP code and your car. Each company chooses where and what it quotes, so the list changes from place to place.

Will I get calls?

We never ask for a phone number, so we have none to pass on. A company only knows what you type on its own site.

What happens after you tap

The company's site opens in a new tab. Come back here any time.

You may be paying too much. Find out in 1 minute.

Just your ZIP code and 1 question.
